Anna M. Fenstermaker

Anna Fenstermaker, 90, from Exton, formerly from Philadelphia, passed away on February 8, 2020 at Sunrise Senior Living in Exton.  Anna is the daughter of the late John Schmidt and the late Anna (Kowalski) Schmidt,  and the wife of the late Alton B Fenstermaker, Jr.  Anna and Al lived in Philadelphia and were married for 65 years.

Anna was a homemaker as well as a wife and mother to five children.  She was a member of Saint Helena’s Parish in Philadelphia for many years before moving to Exton.  She enjoyed her family and was a dedicated Den Mother for her sons’ Cub Scout Pack and supported her children’s school activities at Saint Helena School and at Cardinal Dougherty High School.  Anna and Al enjoyed spending many leisure hours at Harrah’s in Atlantic City and Chester. 

Anna was the consummate care giver, providing day care for grandchildren, caring for her aging parents and grandparents, then being there for her husband.  We, her children, were honored to reciprocate in a small way by caring for her during her final journey with dementia.

Anna is survived by her Sister, Dorothy (Joe) Corvi, children, Anne (Thomas) Beccone, John (Ann), Mark (Kathleen), and Joan (Chris) Leahy.   Also survived by her niece Linda (Mark) Sharrocks and nephew Joe (Annette).  Anna has been blessed with fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews who love and will miss her kind heart.Anna is predeceased by her parents, her husband Al, and her son, Paul (Elaine Coursey).

A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Albert the Great Church 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA on Saturday, February 29 at 10:00 am, with visitation starting at 9:00 am.  Interment will immediately follow at Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, PA.
