Antonia (Toni) R. DelGuzzo, 81, of Downingtown, with her family by her side, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Penn Medicine Inpatient Hospice Unit in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  She was the beloved wife of John A. DelGuzzo, with whom she shared 48 beautiful years of marriage.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adelaide DiMarco.

Toni followed her passion as a 2nd grade teacher with a specialty in non-verbal behavior.  She retired in 1987 after 27 years of service. She started a successful craft and antiques business that thrived for 7 successful years. In accordance with her love for the arts, she was an avid reader who undoubtedly had a fondness for murder mysteries. She could truly never get enough. And when she found an author she liked, she would go about constructing a list of all the books that author had written and would proceed to read them all in the swiftest length of time. It was not unusual for her to read several books in a week or even cover to cover of one in a single day. Toni loved to shop, especially in consignment stores, where she focused on finding designer purses at a bargain price. She has accumulated enough purses to start her own store. She always saw beauty in the antiquated and, most admirably so, could make something out of nothing.

Toni was very proud of her grandfather, Antony DiMarco, who wrote the law to establish Columbus Day as a state holiday in Maryland.  She has a picture of her grandfather, the proclamation and the pens used to sign the bill into law that are prominently displayed in her home. She was extremely close with her uncle, Harry DiMarco-deceased, with whom she shared a special bond and love with.

In addition to her husband, John DelGuzzo, Toni is survived by her children, Jamie L. Nolan (William) and Mark DelGuzzo; and by her most cherished grandson, Ethan Nolan. She enjoyed spending quality time with Ethan, reading his favorite books and playing games with him in the midst of warm hours spent with her family. For her family and friends were everything to Toni.  And by honoring her memory, her family will go on loving Toni, their immeasurable times spent together and the memories she leaves behind.

Services will be private.
