Dean H. Wickwire

Dean H. Wickwire, 79, of Glenmoore, PA, passed away March 20, 2020, after a hard fought battle with pneumonia.  Dean is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Phyllis (Jenkins), daughter Dianne Barskey of Mt. Carmel, PA, son Dean James (Darlene) of Reading, daughter Elizabeth Norcini (Charles), 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews and a niece.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Hedge and Janet, and sister Julie.

Born in Greenwich, CT, his family moved to the Main Line and Dean graduated from Conestoga High School.  Shortly after high school, he met his soon to be wife, Phyllis.  They moved to Glenmoore after marrying.  He became a Plastics Technologist with PennWalt and eventually retired from the same career after 30 plus years. 

When Dean wasn’t working you could find him in the fields somewhere across the country with his many Basset Hounds, or tinkling with a model airplane or boat.  Dean had been very active with the local Boy Scout Troop in Glenmoore, and even hiked the Appalachian Trail.  Dean was an avid traveler and had been to many countries in Europe. 

With the current events of the world, the family has chosen to keep services private.  There is a plan to have a memorial once we are able.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Dean’s name to Wounded Warriors, of which Dean was a loyal supporter.
