Dennis M. Sweeney

Dennis M. Sweeney, 75, of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his home. 

Born in Roxborough, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Martha Chase Sweeney.

Dennis loved being the funny guy, he had a talent for making people laugh. He was the most caring, kind, humble guy you could ever meet. He had a big heart but an even bigger laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, trips with his sisters and vacations with his daughters and grandchildren. Anyone who has met Dennis is guaranteed to have a “Dennis Story”, from old friends to the ladies at the pharmacy. He also had a love for lotto; each one was definitely the winner!

Dennis is survived by his daughters, Michele D. Costello and her husband John, and Jill C. Keller. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (David), Michael (Jillian), and Noen, as well as two great-grandchildren Kaiden and Madison. Dennis is also survived by his sisters, Eleanor (Thom) Hill and Joanne (Michael) Marincola, as well as two nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Martha, and his stepson Jason P. Kelly.

Due to the health pandemic, services will be held privately with the family on Saturday, June 6, 2020. There will be a celebration of Dennis’s life held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
