Elinor Mae "Ellie" Wenk

Elinor M. Wenk (Ellie), born May 14, 1932 in Waterbury, CT to Irving and Harriet Mattson.  She had one brother, Irving, who died on April 30, 2008, whom she adored.

Ellie graduated from Crosby High in 1950.  She then served 2 years in the Women’s Army Corp and became a cryptographer studying at Camp Gordon, Georgia during the Korean Conflict.  Before leaving Camp Gordon, she met the love of her life, Raymond E. Wenk (Bud) and they married and made their home in Bronxville, NY then Katonah, NY.  Bud worked for Western Electric and was transferred to Philadelphia, where they resided in King of Prussia and then Exton.  Ellie belonged to Saint Peter & Paul widow's group, Elderberrys, AARP, To Live Again, Red Hats, WPS, Grove Methodist Church and two bridge groups that she loved. Ellie loved her job at Strawbridge & Clothier (Macy's) where she worked for 34 years.

Elinor is survived by a daughter Janet C. Wenk, and a son Ron J. Wenk (Bobbi). Also survived by, grandchildren Raymond E III., Erin, Justin, Roger, Raquel, Erika, Hannah Mae, Adam E. Wenk, great-grandchildren Kierin, Raymond E. IV and Madalynn Wenk.

Elinor was pre-deceased by her Husband Bud and sons Roger (Linda), Raymond (Kate).

A private burial service was held for the immediate family.  A Life Celebration service for Ellie will be held once the current crisis subsides.
