Franklin Boyd Brouse

Franklin Boyd Brouse, 88, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Saint Martha Manor in Downingtown. Born to the late Malcom Boyd Brouse and Marion Marianna Staples, in Broomall, Pennsylvania on September 12, 1932, Frank was the loving husband of Frances Grace Diberardinis for 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Frank lived in the Downingtown area for over 75 years. He was a graduate of Downingtown High School, Class of 1950, where he was known as a “popular fellow” and excelled at football.  He also began working at Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown his senior year.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War attaining the rank of Airman First Class as a Jet Aircraft Radar Mechanic.  Following Air Force duty, Frank returned to Pepperidge Farm where he continued working for 46 years and 10 months retiring in 1996. He was also a devoted member of the Downingtown Rotary Club for over 20 years serving as President and Club Secretary.    

Anyone who knew Frank will remember that he loved to travel with Frances and play cards with friends. His hobbies included model railroading and building wooden model ships.

In addition to his wife, Frances, Frank is survived by his children; Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired) Steven Michael Brouse ( Martha Freeman Brouse) and a granddaughter Vivian Isabella Brouse of Madison, Alabama; and Ronald Brian Brouse (Fiancee Brenda ) of Exton, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his four older sisters, Lorraine, Emma May, Paula, and Patricia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 30, 2020; 11:00AM at Saint Joseph Parish 332 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335. A viewing will be held prior at the church from 10:00AM to 10:45AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s honor and memory may be made to Saint Joseph Church’s Building Fund.
